Comedy Incarnate, a tale of truth pursued in Six Parts
                                                                    by Ward Kelley

An excerpt from Part One:  Lucrezia

1.

My final living memory
was of a simple sneeze
there in the restaurant;
I hope someone
mentioned 'bless you,'
for I simply stepped aside,
slipped off to the side of
my dusty body,
blipped off the side
of the teeming,
and now curious: I watched
all the live bodies in the restaurant
ministering to my old carcass,
trying to revive it . . .

Who cares?  Who could care?
Let it go . . . let it go,
it's far better to be
out here aside the teeming,
so let my body be,
let it alone . . .
for who cares?
