Poems Niederngasse

She woke to find herself
covered by hand prints

tattoos of every person
who had ever touched her

clasped her
slapped her
caressed or
pinched her
held on
pushed away

Blushing to see
the intimate marks–
hands about her
breasts, climbing
inside her vulva,
touching her eyelids,
moving down her throat,
curled inside her rectum

And the colors!
In time, she learns
teenpassionpink softbabyblue
screaming hard edged scarlet,
a violet almost black,
a fine mossy briar rose

whorled as a kaleidoscope
her body takes on the patina
of much handling–
glowing, glowing
