Stretching the Canvas
The
blank canvas waits
for
the excitement
of
an artist's touch
the
warmth
of
an appreciative gaze–
life
itself.
These
thoughts send quivers
through
threads of stretched fabric
and
would reiterate beyond,
were
it not for the four boundaries
of
wood that secure it.
When
the clerk passes by
fears
of dust filled purgatory
the
clearance shelf
taunt
the canvas.
But,
self-torture ends
when
fetters of self-doubt
no
longer restrict.
A
palate of paints
becomes
its new companion.
A
rainbow of color exchanged
for
the monochromatic
hues
that confined it.
Anonymity
disrobes
the
blush of innocence
blooms
in the thrill
of
discovery that lies
just
beyond the caress
of
the adept artist's brush. |

When Arousal
Eclipsed
the Dawn
silk
patterns wove
the
cosmos
washed
lethargy
of
eons away
passion
awoke
souls
merged
the
journey began
