Sharon Hadrian
Veneration Be Damned
Otis committed it in pencil, scribbled and soft Aretha slung the ink, long and loud like a bugler's horn
In unity they stood behind A fool Flattened, earth-weathered hands pushing forward pulling back against puppet strings
They snapped Mouth wide and jaw slack Slumped over into the encumbered toy box of tricks and treats
Feet pounding sidewalks all the way down to the store A better model on the shelf Carried forth we find what's in a name

d | Sharon Hadrian: was
raised in a tiny, homogenous town outside of Baltimore, Maryland. A
bookworm from a young age, she was always the only kid in school who
loved writing assignments and essays. Years later Sharon earned her
degree in English, proving on an academic level that she could write
screenplays, children’s books, rock operas, technical
instructions, and other things people will never read. These days, she
can be found crafting more serious works, particularly those related to
diversity and minority visibility. Sharon is also the founder and
senior editor of Antithesis Common, an online literary magazine. |
