J.R. "Bob" Campbell
grew up working in his father's blacksmith shop in Amherst, Texas, and
took a B.A. in English at West Texas A&M University in Canyon in
1970. He has been a reporter and editor at nine newspapers in Texas and
Colorado and is now covering courts and state and national politics at
