Dee Rimbaud
was born in 1962, in Glasgow, Scotland. Both his parents were artists.
He started writing poetry in his teens and won the Lochaber High School
poetry competition in 1979. He edited Dada Dance magazine from
1984-1989 and Acid Angel magazine from 1998-2000; and is currently
editor of AA Independent Press Guide and 'The Book Of Hopes And
Dreams'.
He studied to post-graduate level at Edinburgh
College of Art from 1986-1991, specialising in Sculpture. Whilst at art
school he won an Andrew Grant travelling scholarship to India: a John
Kinross Scholarship to Florence, Italy; and participated in an exchange
programme, studying for three months at L'Ecole Des Beaux Arts, Le
Havre in France.
Since graduating he has worked in community
arts, arts development, film & television, and as a freelance
illustrator and graphic designer. He has also done his share of less
glamorous jobs.
His first full-length collection of poetry,
'The Bad Seed' was published by Stride (1998). His second collection,
'Dropping Ecstasy With The Angels', published by Bluechrome (2004), was
short listed for numerous awards and won first place equal (with George
Wallace, the Long Island Poet Laureate) in The Poetry Kit's Favourite
Poetry Book Award.
His novel, 'Stealing Heaven From The Lips Of God' was published by Bluechrome (2004).
