Poems Niederngasse Poetry Contest
50 US dollars cash prize for the winner!
No entry fee!
Three additional poets selected for online
and print publication. |
If you are dedicated to poetry, Poems Niederngasse is seeking your best
work. Surprise us, make us see our world in a new way, use
language that demands to be read. Write to appeal to our
senses! Show us a world we can reach out and touch! Remember that
we've been reading poetry for a long time, so we're not likely to
be impressed with poems about your kitty, your lovely baby, or how bad
your daddy was.
Think Phillip Levine. Think Jane Hirshfield. Think Li-Young Lee.
Think Heather McHugh.
Only unpublished,
original work considered. While we accept simultaneous
submissions, please notify us immediately if your work is accepted
elsewhere.
Send up to (max) three poems to contest@niederngasse.com.
And we care only about the poetry! Don't send your
biography, your list of publications or any other
information. Include your three poems in the body of an email (No attachments) with a subject line
that reads: Poems Niederngasse
Contest: Your Name.
Contest deadline is 31 March 2005.
Poems will be online in the May/June issue and printed in
the Niederngasse July print magazine.
All entries will be also considered as Niederngasse's regular
submissions and some will be published in future editions. The
appropriate mail will be sent at the time of acceptance.
All entries will be acknowledged, but only the winners will be notified
by email. If you do not receive a receipt for your
entry within a day or two, mail us. Further information about the
progress of the contest can be read on the site.
Good Writing!
